Ingredients

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup Crystal Sugar sugar
  • 1 cup water

Red Sangira

  • One 750-milliliter bottle red wine
  • 4 ounces brandy
  • 3 ounces Simple Syrup
  • 8 ounces club soda
  • 1 cup mixed fruit of choice (lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, apple, pear, peach, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry)

Instructions

Simple Syrup

  1. Measure equal parts water and sugar.
  2. Stir on stove-top and allow mixture to boil. Stir continuously.
  3. Once sugar is fully dissolved, remove from heat and let mixture cool.
  4. When cool, your simple syrup is ready to use. Store in an air-tight jar in refrigerator for up to one month.

Red Sangria

  1. Prepare Simple Syrup and let cool.
  2. In a pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, Simple Syrup, and fruit of choice.
  3. Refrigerate for 4-8 hours until sangria is chilled and the flavors have melded.
  4. Just before serving, add club soda and gently stir.
  5. Serve chilled in ice-filled wine glasses with sliced fruit as a garnish.
