It All Begins On Family Farms
Since 1899, we’ve been working closely with family farmers in America’s Heartland. In fact, our farmers/growers are actually the owners of our American Crystal Sugar Company which makes CRYSTAL SUGAR® products. And as farmers, they genuinely care about the sugar used in their kitchens and yours.
Supporting Neighbors & Community
As you might expect, our farmers are tied closely to their local communities in the Red River Valley where their harvested sugar beets are collected and made into various sugar products. Together, farmers and CRYSTAL SUGAR® manufacturing facilities actively support these local communities with educational scholarships as well as donations to ambulance services, healthcare, fire stations and other community essentials. We also make donations to disaster relief efforts, Make-A-Wish, the United Way and various charities working with families and children.
Sustaining The Land & Good Foods
As an agribusiness leader, we are fully committed to thoughtful stewardship of our farmlands, our sugar beets and the overall environment. For example: once harvested, the entire sugar beet is used, or recycled, or turned into agribusiness byproducts that can be used in pet foods, livestock feed and even baker’s yeast. This total-usage practice is good for business and great for the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and eliminating waste. We also understand the responsibility of providing quality sugar to current and future generations – while championing sustainable farm practices. And we firmly believe in giving back and appreciating all our precious resources: Mother Nature, farmers, communities and you, the customer.
